NPLinkup ("we," "us," or "our") operates the NPLinkup dating platform and mobile app, designed for Nigerian professionals connecting at home and in the diaspora. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have about your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email, username, password (hashed), date of birth, gender, mobile number.
- Profile content: photos, intro videos, bio, location, education, profession, religion, tribe, relationship preferences, and quiz answers.
- Communications: messages, gifts, likes, and other interactions with other members.
- Payment data: when you subscribe to NPL Gold/Plus, transactions are handled by our payment processor; we store transaction IDs and plan details but not full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device info: device type, OS, app version, push tokens.
- IP address and approximate location (used to power "near you" matching).
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, search filters applied.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the core matchmaking service: showing you profiles, computing MatchIQ™ compatibility, surfacing likes and messages.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets, match alerts) and, with your consent, marketing updates.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Improve the product through aggregate analytics.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Other members — whatever you put on your profile or send in messages is visible to people you interact with.
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, push notifications, payment processing, and analytics, bound by data-processing agreements.
- Legal authorities — when required by valid legal process or to protect rights, property, or safety.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update: edit your profile at any time via Settings → Edit Profile.
- Pause: hide your profile from discovery via Settings → Pause My Profile.
- Delete: permanently delete your account via Settings → Delete My Account.
- Communications: opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Push notifications: control via device settings or in-app preferences.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile from public view within 24 hours and erase your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms.
6. Children
NPLinkup is intended for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at support@nplinkup.com.
7. Security
We use HTTPS in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
8. International Users
NPLinkup is operated from servers that may be located outside Nigeria. By using the service, you consent to your data being transferred and processed in those countries.
9. Changes to This Policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. Significant changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use of NPLinkup after a change means you accept the updated policy.
